Basic Timer for heating control

My elderly mother has a single zone heating system with a difficult old fashioned timer that she doesn’t really understand.

just wondering if I can replace that with an immersion timer, the ones where you click in the buttons on the 24 hour dial ….(nest, Hive etc would be too complicated as would a digital timer)

Need a simple way to time on and off times with option for manual turn on/off

    TIA

A switch or timer is no use, if she is home a lot....

    block all chimnets

fit a stat and set it to 20

If its a condensing boiler set it to the lowest temp setting

it will take a few days for the heat to get into every inch of the house, but when it does the boiler will only come on to replace heat lost to the outside, this will vary depending on insulation and temperature outside

If its costing a lot to run, find where the heat is getting out and insulate it
