Miyoto 825S Movement ?

    Hi,

    I wanted to know if circules in the Miyoto 825S movement is brass, or is it gold ?

    Would anyone know ?

    I'm talking about the circle in the image below. I have read its usually made of brass, just wanted to know ?!

    Its brass, gold is very rarely used for parts subject to stress, torsion or tension as it is far too malleable. The miyota is also a very cheap movement, were that wheel made of gold? the movement would cost multiples of its actual price.

    The reason I want to know is because this movement is used in a watch I'm interested in, the Zeppelin 7666M-5 which costs about £260.

    I too am suspecting that not to be gold, the price is too low for it.

    They are a very high volume, low price movement. That said they are reliable and easily serviceable, with plentiful spare parts and tbh, cheaper to replace the movement rather than service it when the time comes. Using a miyota leaves the brand a bit more margin to play with.
