How do you actually confirm a date with the Dublin Registry Office - is this given at the marriage notification appointment if you tell them that's where you want to do it or do you have to sort it separately?

generally done on the date of the appt, minimum 3 months out but due to demand it could take longer before you get a slot.
IIRC you can change it up to a point and not have to shell out another 200 lids, longer, you start again
