I have noticed in recent years that whenever you switch on your computer or phone you get an assorted mix of the potential disasters that will 'befall' us .... one day it is some asteroid out there ... the next it is nuclear war ... or else it is some sun storm destroying our communications ... or else it is some rogue planet that does not even exist coming along to throw earth out of the solar system ... no wonder the whole world went into panic during Covid 19 !!

All reminds me of this old priest in our parish years back ... used to always give sermons about his views on the likely causes of the end of the world coming soon .... and this priest used to be always on about that when you talked to him outside of mass and church too! ... he clearly was obsessed with this ...

What is this new found obsession with the end of the world et al today? ... aren't there enough actual misery in the world ... Gaza, Ukraine, Trump, ISIS ... for not to go making up potential might be's that are anything but certain .... and even real events were exaggerated out of all proportion ... like those who said Covid would kill millions of people in Ireland .... it didn't ...

No wonder people are scared out of their wits in some cases ...
