Is it just me or is that downright mesmerizing?

I played Killer Instinct as a kid and don't even remember the theme but know it sounded boss.

Some pretty heavy duty musicianship must have gone into it though, based on what I'm seeing here.

Yep, the whole soundtrack is unreal. I particularly like the KI2 sountrack, what is particularly impressive is the variety of music it has for its time. It had a mix of Metal, early-IDM, 90s Cheesy House and tonnes more, Robin Beanland was underrated for his time on it he went on to do Goldeneye at rare too. And the opening theme, I cant name a game with a better opening theme than both KI1 and KI2, I'm not even a huge metal fan but objectively speaking it's incredibly, and I love how it really transports you back to an era.

A personal favourite from the series, I've no clue how they even made this type of industrial music back then, it was pretty much pre-IDM but was top notch for it's time in '95, maybe Atari ST or Pro Tools but there wasn't a range of DAWs, VSTs or workstations like there is now to get these sort of synths and arrangements, but they whole lot is worth checking out:

'Street' as cheesy 90's as it is also pretty cool, very unique for a game with a lot of industrial/ techno/ metal type tracks but it works.

I'm just waiting on a disc on module for a killer instinct image and then I can run both ki1 and ki2 off the same pcb :) Hopefully it won't get returned in the post this time.

There's also a dual daughter board addon being released within a few weeks that allows you to flip games with a switch, looks great.

The same guy behind the music of 1 and 2 also did 3. It's well worth checking out the latest installment.
