Associated costs importing a machine from China

Hi,

I am looking at importing a machine (CNC cutting machine) from China. They have quoted me FOB so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a company to go to to look after shipping and customs?

Also for those who have experience with this that might be able to give me an idea of the costs involved. The machine itself is 5,350 USD FOB. The crate size is 3150mm x 2200mm x 1700mm and gross weight of 1000kg. If anyone can give me an estimate of what it would cost by the time it's cleared etc. it would be much appreciated.

Shipping, your looking at $3500 for a 20ft to Dublin or Cork, and about €600-€700 in local costs when it arrives(THC, agency, customs, haulage within 10km of the M50.. might get less by LcL if any co-loader will take something that big

Customs duty is 2.7% on the landed value, so about €220

VAT would be about €1900
