Karate Kumite Scoring

    HI

Having watched a couple of Karate Kumite competitions I'm really confused as to how the scoring works.

Ive seen so many cleanly delivered techniques ignored/not scored.

In other event's e.g. kickboxing/Tae kwon Do It's more clear. If I see a technique land its often scored.

Understand that techniques need to be delivered cleanly & in correct fashion and all that.

Suspect there may be a Bias towards some techniques over others in practice within Karate e.g. see many successful side kicks being ignored.

Whats the word on the street ?

    Thanks.
