iPad error 6

Hello, we have an iPad, (3 years old) it crashed today, we connected it to a laptop that says there is an error 6. We have tried all the hints on the internet ie holding volume buttons and power buttons etc…nothing works, would anyone on here have any other advice or instructions that might help please? Thank you!
