local aldi has variety of hams for sale - but the label says they are not suitable for home freezing. If i hadn't thought to check, i'd have bought 2 and put them in the freezer. I've frozen hams from other stores and butchers & cooked them within 3 months and am still alive - any idea why the aldi hams can't be frozen?

Probably because they’ve already been frozen.

This is considered food safety advice which traditionally has not been allowed on Boards. However, we seem to be in Mod-free territory at the moment so no rules apply. 🙄

You could cook and freeze then, safe to do that if an option?

If it says suitable it's because it was already frozen.
