Scaffold Pole Price?

10' ones. I only want three or four. They're for sticking into the ground and holding a nylon net up. Figured, if I could find retail, I'd buy those. Or at least know what a local Builder might want.

Searched till my eyes bled. It's all, 'Contact our sales team!'. There's not a lot that grips my piss more than a simple question, of a retailers yard, being met with that!

Anyone bought any, lately, please? What sort of money we talking? I'm guessing ally ones would be ridiculously more than steel? (Dunno why I'd need ally. I can handle a ten foot steel one!)

    Thanks.

Galvanised steel is what you want.

    Try your local ironworks/welders workshop.

The kind of place that makes gates, railings, barriers etc.

    They'll put you right.

The last ones I got were decommissioned scaffolding from a scaffolding company.

    It's a while ago so can't give a price.

Thanks, Elperello. I'm really looking for a swift, if ball park, price though 😐️

Galvanised television aerial pole could be an alternative.

go to your local agri shop that sells steel. they are just 50mm galv pipe. 35mm would probably do what you want .

where are you again stigura. loads of it here in thurles. i could probably get 100 lengths in the morning if they are open.

🤔 *Could Be*, I s'pose? Yeah. Something like that? I guess I'm sort of hung up on scaff's, simply because I happen to have two already out there. Long since concreted in place, as part of an unrelated project.

Sod it. Look; I've got this little triangle of ground. Yeah? 30', give or take, a side. One side Has a scaff at each end. I need to hang a thin, light, nylon net over it. To keep birds in. That's all. I'll run wire between the tops, to keep the net up, between poles. I'll put tennis balls on the poles, to stop the net slipping down or catching. That clear enough?

Not gonna be a ton of weight. I actually Have said net in my kitchen, as I type! I could go and weigh the bloody thing?! 😐️

Lads; I tried So hard to keep this short and simple. I'm well aware that I'm a chatty sod ~ and todays world likes Short Burst Transmissions. But, there it is. And, to summarise the other questions / posts? I've exhausted 'Local'. No one I can get to sells anything like I want. They just don't.

I'm in the complete arse end of absolutely no where, Co. Leitrim. I don't drive. I, literally, have more Dogs than friends! See? So, I cook up these notions. Then wonder how to get it done. Become curious, in passing, about a cost? Drama Ensues! 😂

If 'TV Ariel Poles' will do? Maybe I can find Their price, on line? I would just point out though; This spot's Right in the exact path of the very worst winds we get, here. Bit of a micro climate spot. Net needs to be seven foot up, at the lowest sides. Would such thin poles take it?

    Thanks, all 🙂

I have used these guys before to build a 3mx3mx3m golf net and its still there :)

You can collect from Athlone or Glasnevin or they can deliver, but you pay extra for delivery over 2M lengths

For what you describe you are probably looking at €13/m for 3m of 42mm galvanised

    Thanks, GreBo. Very interesting

Happens, I have three galvanised tubes, outside. Left over from some purpose. Sadly, not anywhere near 42mm.

Point is; I bought them! I not only bought them. The company had them delivered here too. I'll bet They have 42's

And, what are scaffold poles? Galvanised tubes. So, there won't be much in the prices 🙂

    Sounds good!

    Thanks.

    Thanks, Discodog.

I'm involved in talks with my neighbour yet. He's the one will be sinking the things. Right now, he's of the view that scaffold poles will be cheaper. I'm along the lines of; 'Well, you bloody come up with them and I'll pay!' 😄

Only see him a few minutes a week though. Makes negotiations a bit drawn. All a fine balancing act now. Weather / ground conditions Vs. What ever he gets up to next, with his cattle. I'd still sooner at least have the poles to hand though.
