Damaged wheel liner

I was driving through stormy weather last night and my front passenger side wheel liner seems to have come loose and is banging off of the tyre while driving. It’s visibly damaged.

I previously had to peel back this liner a few months ago to remove some bolts in order to remove the front bumper, so I’d say it wasn’t reattached properly hence it’s come loose, my engine undertray is also removed at the moment as it broke a while ago on a bumpy road, this is on a 2010 Audi A4.

Tomorrow I’m planning to jack the car, remove the wheel and try to reattach the liner but if I can’t get back on due to the damage on it, could I remove it and still drive the car? I’d essentially have muck and dirt kicking up into some of the engine bay, would this be harmful even if only for a few weeks?

Best not to drive with it off, especially if dirt is going to get into belts.

You should replace the undertray as well.

Try and leave as much of it in place as possible.

Also don't work under a car that is sitting on a jack.
