Trying to setup a box for friends and don't know all Freesat / Terrestrial lingo so bare with me.

Using Amiko Combi Box is one room. There is a seperate Terrestrial Ariel and Freesat cables and when I connect to combi Box I can get all channels (RTE and BBC)

I take the same box to another room that has one thicker cable (see pic with just terrestrial connection on it) going into a splitter...When I connect a terrestrial cable and Freesat cable from the splitter into the same box I can only get the terrestrial channels to work..So no Freesat.

In the attic I can see the opposite end of the splitter does have two feeds.

My question....Do you connect the terrestrial and Freesat the same way to the box as if is were seperate lines?

Do you need to do any different type of scan if there is a splitter involved ??

Is a different box required than Amiko Combi for a splitter feed?

    Any help appreciated.

Just connect the 2 cables to box as normal, it should not matter which way round and scan as normal for sat and saorview. What is being used is a diplexor that combines the 2 signals dwon one lead. You have probably sorted that by now anyway.

Thanks for the response but no luck.

There are so many cables in attic I can't figure it out but when I try scan for Satelittle using the splitter connection it's not picking up any signal from the Astra satellite...There looks to be a few splitter / junction boxes in the attic so I reckon the Satellite connection into the splitter is no longer active and it's being diverted to room 2 which I can get to work fine from the non splitter feed.

Anyway I called it day and if they want to get professionals out again they can 😁
