Samsung TV/amazon prime

Hi

we bought a Samsung TV however when we try set it up it keeps directing us too set up an Amazon prime account which we don’t want or need.

when I press and hold the hold button nothing happens.

I cannot even get into the system or settings as it keeps going back too this Amazon prime screen.

how can I get round this ?? Or should tv go back too the shop where we bought it from ???

any advise

I had a look and it appears that TV is geared towards Alexa, can you just disconnect from internet ie turn off wi fi and if you have a lan cable plugged in take it out. Try it as just a SAORVIEW tv.

It’s not connected too the internet and that’s exactly what we are planning on but still can’t get past the set up account with Amazon prime video.

i think it will have too go back too power city as it’s impossible too use.

i was thinking such a basic tv should be just plug & play but all new Samsung tvs seems too have the same issues with this Amazon prime account set up.

I have an 2020 Samsung that insists you set up a Samsung account to access some functions such as the sleep timer. It throws a hissy-fit if the internet is disconnected

The power button ? It switches off.

once pressed again it turns back on but goes straight too the Amazon prime account & can’t go beyond that.

Ive decided it has too be returned as we cannot operate it.

No. On the screen you posted it says close at the bottom. Use the arrow keys on remote to select that button then press ok

Dunno then, it's only an ad/offer should be some way round it. Maybe try with internet connected. press a number to get to the channels

Set up a free Amazon account on your phone. You don't even need a credit card to set one up. When you go to the address on the screen it's telling you to go to and put in the code it will ask you to sign into your account. Sign in with the account you just created and it should go away.

We brought tv back too power city and they done a factory reset on it.it seemed too work while there so will give it a go once again
