Same wire gauge but different thickness?

    Hello!

    I bought TRS rubber 2.5mm² 2-core cable online. Today I bought in an automotive shop, 2.5mm² single core, and 4mm² 2-core cut off the roll. However, as you can see in the pics below the thickness of the online cable is more than what I bought in store for the same gauge. Is there something I am missing or perhaps the online store sent me the incorrect cable??

    And of course I'm referring to the actual copper wire being thicker and not the insulation of the cable

    Is the 4mm 2 core a combined size? 2x2mm? Strange if it's labelled that way but it's now it appears
