Building survey findings

Hi, we are buying a house in Ireland from abroad and recently had a building survey done. The survey turned up some items that need to be corrected (e.g., items that do not meet building code) or replaced before we can move in. At this stage in the country we currently live in we would go back to the seller and ask them to fix it or negotiate some money off the price. Is the process the same in Ireland or how does it typically work?

That's the way it works here too generally - i.e. go back to the seller and ask them to fix it or negotiate some money off the price.

That, or accept the issues and get on/buy the house, or, simply walk away from the purchase!
