Anyone have any details on Moorefield Motors?

Looking to purchase a 2010 Volvo S40 from them, seems fairly legit with full service history and the lot, but some of their bad reviews are VERY bad and it makes me feel a bit dodge about them. Seems that they’ve only been in business for a few years. Does anyone have any details about them or any experience with them?

Yes, 2.0D. I’ve done my research and it’s the type of engine i’m looking for, and it comes with full service history, but still slightly thrown off by those bad reviews.

Probably should’ve made myself clearer, I was on about their Facebook reviews.

A lot of their reviews are from family of the owner and bad reviews involve cars being written off in other countries and being sold here etc

A history report is €35, if a dealer is knowingly seller write offs they could fake a history report.

Selling undeclared write offs means they are the type of dealer you dont want to be dealing with.

Print it out and use a pdf editor, could be done in 5 minutes.

I never trust any garage anyway, I run an Irish check and I'f it comes up as a UK car I run a UK check aswell before purchasing, I would never trust a garage supplied check

Yeah but the checks arent cheap so I would only do them if I had the deposit down and was about to transfer money.

Example I bought a car for 36k during the year and spent 50 quid on an Irish and English check on it because I knew it was an import, I wouldn't trust the place at all. So was money well spent imo.

Only place I probably wouldn't bother run a check is if I was buying off an official dealership because that's their reputation on the line if they are selling crashed cars

An official dealer won't sell write offs but they will sell cars that have been in a crash, so it still makes sense to check the car over for signs of body repairs

Dealers can and do sell write offs, there are different categories of write off.

I can’t see the value in buying a 13/14 year old car from a dealer with a bad reputation though.

When I said official dealer I meant a franchised dealer. Ordinary second hand dealers will sell write offs yes

Bit late to the party, I hope you didnt buy off them, absolutely terrible company to deal with, a friend bought a car off Mark and my god she had some hardship with it, ended up going down the legal route.

They are scumbags the cars they sell are all poor quality cars, if it was the only garage near me and the other one was 200 miles away, id go to the other one.

The reviews on Facebook are true, the ones on google are fake sure he reviewed it himself and gave it 5 stars.

Didn’t buy off them eventually, bought a different car off a private seller in the end, they seemed too risky.

Just waiting for a different dealer or private seller to list another S40 instead.
