High Mileage - Trade in?

Question for anyone in the motor trade. I have a 2012 Santa Fe with 430,000 KM on it! Its in good nick, running perfectly, has had all the bits done over the years and I love it.

Thinking of changing in the new year and thinking of finances so am wondering if any garages would take it as trade in? I assume it would be nigh on impossible to sell on, so just thinking of what to do with it?

I’d imagine any garage will take it, but will probably only offer you €3k or so.

You’d definitely sell it on Donedeal for that price too.

you much better off selling privately , a dealer will find it near impossible to sell on in trade with that mileage

Straight to auction I'd say, had a similar experience with my last car, similar milage and looking fresh, the dealer took it as trade but it wasn't going on the lot.

Try a private sale first before auction.

My last car (2010 A6) had about the same mileage on it when I changed. Great physical condition and history but it had developed an intermittent oil pressure warning and going into limp mode so it wasn't worth the cost of investigation and repair - plus it was a 3L diesel so a challenge to move on anyway.

I wouldn't have the time or patience for dealing with all the time wasters in a private sale - plus I need to be able to get straight into a replacement and don't have the money or space to keep 2 cars in the interim.

Got a grand for it on the trade all the same.
