An Post have replaced our normal delivery person with a temporary arrangement but we knew the person well so could say leave parcel under letter box on right hand side etc but now with temporary delivery is a lot later, parcels left in wrong place, getting mail for other addresses and so on.

I had a case of a failed delivery yesterday and no note left to say so, only got amazon email, went to depot in ENNIS and got parcel. Enquired as why service was shoddy to be told powers that be had redesigned rounds etc. Depot wont answer phone.

Is there some government department I can raise this with? I tried AN POST website as well and to rub salt in the wounds when you want to tack an item you have to register and give a password. I rang the DUBLIN number and was told we are closed for lunch 1-2!!

COMREG is the regulator for postal deliveries.

But you will need to try to resove locally first.

Try writing to the delivery branch manager.

They have changed routes nationally. Many people will have new post deliverers from the New Year. It'll be a matter of letting the new person know your preferred delivery points. There's bound to be a bit of misdirected post while the postie gets to grips with a new route. I'd cut them some slack, as it must be a pain for them too.

We have a new postie here in my area of Limerick. He won't even leave parcels or packages despite being told to do so by me. One day I was even outside the front door and he insisted on putting the post through the door.

The posties are usually delighted to leave a parcel in a safe place. It makes less work for them. It also makes life easier for me. It can be a PITA having to go over to the Dock Road. I complained at the depot and they agreed with me. They said that there is a new boss down there who insists that things are done by the book. This fella is taking that a bit too seriously and beyond.

I also complained to An Post and got absolutely no where with them. They said they were reconfiguring the routes. Like the OP the post doesn't arrive until nearly 2pm these days. Whereas before it would be here before 10am. That's a big difference if there is post that needs urgent attending to. Having to log in every time to get a parcel left in a safe place is a joke. The rest of the couriers do what they are told.

make a point if you can to have a chat with the new guy , if you are friendly and they know you to talk to you are more likely to get mail delivered correctly ,

they are doing a hard job and most of them are sound people , and in my opinion I personally would never make a complaint against a postman ,

and give them something small for Christmas , helps them remember you 😁

I have tried on numerous occasions to no avail. He is just not a nice man and from the chat I had in the depot his colleagues do not seem to have much time for him either. I would never complain in general as they do a fantastic job but this guy is just a headwreck. He just does what suits himself and thats it.

Go to the sorting office and ask for the manager. Whenever my postie is off, my post goes to neighbours and even apartments next door. Everywhere except my house.

I changed my address to mygaff HOUSES, to try and stop the apartments getting mine. I went looking for the manager and showed him a letter, properly addressed, which was misdelivered. Then I turned it over and it was a cheque for 1600 at the bottom. He went quiet.

AFAIK, staff in Limerick are on a work to rule in response to the new routes and work standards being implemented. They have designed the routes on delivery times etc, so the faster you go and sooner you finish, and the more they give you. So if you leave parcels in a porch and walk away, it is obviously faster than knocking, waiting for customer, letting them sign and print etc, which is the standard expected, but posties who know their customers and are efficient and taking short cuts are being punished as their practise is obviously faster, and it is those faster times the route is designed by. This could explain one poster complaining about the new postmen not letting parcels and leaving a docket for you to collect the item. They are probably doing things by the book and not taking shortcuts, and why should they if they end up being punished by being given more. It’s a typical example of someone on a computer in an office who has never done the job thinking they are clever by using this data and coming to the wrong conclusion by giving those who were provide a good service and manage to finish early by giving them more, which explains people getting post at 2 instead of 10. It’s look, this guy is finishing early , let’s give them more! That’s good management, punish efficiency by giving them more and those who are slow and useless get less. Typical short sighted by some so called clever clogs who thinks he is great

Online retailers don't want parcels "left" in places as they are responsible for loss.

However if you give permission to an post via the tracking, you should be able to redirect
