    Hi.

Currently driving a 2018 diesel Jetta. Was thinking about trading it in for a petrol golf because I don't do the mileage for a diesel anymore.

However a month ago, I was in an accident and did 4k worth of damage to the front and side of it. Insurance paid for it and have it back. I'm wondering is it worth still trying to trade it in or am I better of keeping it. Will the damage affect the trade in price much? The place I got it repaired was chosen by the insurance company and by all accounts did a great job.

    Thanks.

If the damage has been recorded on the insurance database it will for sure effect the value.

Sometimes it can take a long time for insurance claims to be uploaded tho.

When I traded in my car I was asked was it crashed. Not sure what the dealer can legally do if you lie, but they definitely won't be quick to do anything for you when they find out you lied.
