    Just wondering what do you think wil lthe below need to be replaced or will they pass an NCT

    They are above the wear indicator so they will pass but you should definitely change them soon. You will probably get an advisory on your NCT sheet.

    Technically only the central three quarters of the tyre needs to have a tread depth of at least 1.6mm to pass. Page 96 section 5.2.3 of the NCT manual gives reasons for failure. Reason "G" is that the tyre is not "fit for purpose" so that may be open to interpretation. Have a look at the manual here: nct_manual_2023.pdf (ncts.ie). The section on Tyre Tread starts on page 95.

    Those things you have pictured should definitely be replaced anyway, regardless of whether you pass the NCT or not. Some sort of wheel alignment, balancing or suspension/steering checks need carried out too as that is uneven tyre wear and points to an issue with the car.
