    Hi Folks,

Ok, I need to replace my battery in my Mazda 3. Normally i could do this in my sleep as I generally service

a lot of the things myself but I wonder when I read some of the stuff on you-tube regarding the battery change-out...

I know about changing out the sensor first before taking off the negative terminal and then fitting in reverse, will I have any surprises??

    thanks a lot...

If it has a shunt on the negative then it’s probably got a smart alternator, and the car will probably need to be coded to tell it that a new battery is fitted so it can adjust the charging accordingly.

Your car will work if you just swap the batteries, but the life span of the new battery will be shorter if the battery isn’t registered with the car.
