CGT on disposal of business assets

    Hi All

I have a small limited company in which I am the only shareholder. I recently sold the assets of the company eg. websites, mailing lists, IP and stock to a buyer in the UK but I did not sell the shares.

I wondered what the CGT position is ? Am I liable for CGT or can I just put the sale through the books as a trade sale ? I have owned and worked in the company for over 6 years and am 59 years old so wondered if I would be entitled to Retirement Relief which would bring the CGT rate down from 33% to 10% ?

    Thanks
