Hi all..just wondering if any one has any experience of these Nissan Deals, where you buy a new 241 car and in 2025 they replace it with a 251, with no additional charge. Do you have to buy car on PCP or HP to avail of the offer or can u do a straight cash deal. Also any loopholes in it, on the face of it it looks a good deal.

    Thanks in advance

They're dependent on 6.9% PCP or HP agreements, as far as I can see. You get nowt for nowt.

All on their website with terms and conditions.

if you were going to buy 1 of those 3 models anyways, at full RRP, on either PCP or HP, then its probably a good deal.

They did this a few years ago with the older model, was open to cash buyers

You’re paying list price for a Nissan, which until covid times was unheard of. Supply has caught up big time for Nissan and now they’re back to stacking them high, flooding the rental car market which ruins residuals.

Still though it's a great deal, especially on an X-Trail which is quite well priced versus the competition. In the first year you'd expect it to lose a minimum 10% so that a minimum 5000 euro benefit.

problem with that, i think is that it will depreciate faster than a kodiaq or similar. the xtrail doesn't fit 3 car seats in the middle row, and is a cumbersome 7 seater. not all that desirable.

Thanks for the responses folks. Yes on the face of it, it seems a pretty good deal especially if you can avail of the deal with cash up front and a few bob off, drive it for 1 year and get a new one 2025. I know Nissan aren't everyone's favourites, but i've had a few of them in the past, and always found them reliable.

As someone mentioned above, they will probably make up the difference in the interest they charge on the PCP, nevertheless, still worth checking it out.. Thanks again.

Beware it's not really 2 4 1. After 1 year you hand back your car and get a new car, so you start again with a new car but in no way are you getting 2 cars for the price of one. Depreciation and interest and residual values are the hidden cost and you need to do the sums as it sounds like they can't shift cars and don't expect to shift them in 12 months so depreciation may be high and sale price and PCP deal may be a very very bad deal. Any car advertising on the radio is typically high profit for the seller.

No such thing as a free lunch.

They are making most of the money back from you:

    a. Your buying at full list price.

    b. Repaying a high rate of 6.9% every month on finance.

It's a double winner for them if the finance rates are against the list price.

I don’t see how you could see this as a good deal. You are spending thousands more than you should be so therefore it is not a good deal.

Its only a good deal for someone who was planning on upgrading after a year anyway. Which I suspect absolutely no one is doing these days.
