    Hi all,

New here just looking for some information, Long time vermin shooter but hoping to fill the freezer with deer next season, New rifle already approved, Booked in to attend a training course in February, Just wondering is there anything I need to know before I attend? I know there is multiple choice questions but are they done based on what's learned on the day or is there homework to be done beforehand?

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Looks like your doing the CSI one in Midlands? When you pay you get access to an online manual that you can study before actual course. They cover all the theory in lectures before multiple choice question test. Bring shooting sticks and a shooting mat or similar for shooting test

Course is self explanatory regards paperwork.. more tick the box job.. what I would say is get comfortable shooting groups with your rifle. 1st 3 shots are laying down off bipod @100yards.. it's at a 6" target.. once you've hit that its then another 3 at a 6" target on a deer replica at heart and lungs.. then at 75 yards off sticks standing and then at 50 yards kneeling off sticks.. all 9 shots must be in target. Fairly easy if your comfortable with your rifle. Lots of people doing it have never shot a higher calibre than .22 / .17hmr so really struggle with hired rifles as they are .308 with no moderator.. course is very enjoyable and good banter over the 2 days.

Very good advice, practice shooting your rifle, at the prescribed distances. With a small amount of practice, should be no trouble!
