How accurate is the carzone web valuer? Optimistic, conservative, on the money?

Any other free Irish valuation sites that don't need an account and use a different calculatiin engine to carzone?

Optimistic, very much. It's just an average of dealership asking prices.

Valuation is subjective, if you're selling look at done deal prices and compare cars to your own. Still plenty of dreamers at top end of prices on DD too, even the private ones can be dreamland for dealers sometimes. Or ask here, plenty of people in the know

Find the cheapest similar example on Donedeal and minus about 10%. That’s probably how much its worth.

Carzone car valuator is completely inaccurate.

Carzone valuation 31k

same spec as mine private sale on carzone 31k (smaller miles)

very close spec dealer sale on done deal 23k (same miles)

next spec level up 24k (same miles)

Looks like private sale is going by Carzone valuation.

We changed our car in the last month.

Carzone valuation is 29.250 k, actual main dealer price was 27k.

Our trade in car is valued at 17.5 k using car zone. Main dealer has it for 15k. Dealer gave us 10k as a trade in price.

There aren't too many 2016s for sale on done deal but I'd say about 7k selling private and maybe 4k as a trade in.

I dont know if estates normally sell for the same price as a regular saloon/hatchback version of the same car?

I find DoneDeals valuation tool much more accurate. A friend recently bought a car and I think he paid €100 over the range.

The mazda diesel engines are the single most unreliable and troublesome engine available today, people wont touch them with a bargepole or even somebody elses bargepole

Its a ticking time bomb. Possibly the worst diesel engine ever made. Thats why they are so cheap to buy. Theres tons of them on Donedeal that need complete engine rebuilds.

The Mazda engine is far worse than any Peugeot, they are very well documented. The japs in fairness were never good at diesel engines, Toyota d4d, Subaru boxer, Mazda sky active etc all troublesome
