Extraordinary bias of Mods in After Hours Forum

So any time I make threads in the After Hours Forum it gets banned or put into another post someone else made. I have every right to make posts in After Hours too. I have talked and tried to ask the moderator why with no reply. It's not like it's even busy these days. You would think they would be happy having more posts made.

I am disputing a specific warning.

For instance I started a thread yesterday in After Hours and it was almost instantly moved by the person above me here. I put this down to bullying. They the Mods that is seem to think they can bully me in the thread and do not want me to post in it because I come up with original threads unlike some if the rubbish in it.

I will not stand for it or except it. I was bullied in school and never forget it. There is nothing fun about having your trousers pulled off you or a wedgie just because I was different and clever. I will not stand for the bullying in the After Hours thread against me either.

Thanks AMKC, but I cannot see any official warning added to your account yesterday. This forum is for official warnings (warnings with points attached) or forum bans.

If you have received an informal warning or thread ban it will need to be discussed in the Helpdesk Forum.

Moving a thread is not an issue that is dealt with in Dispute Resolution. I will move this thread to the Helpdesk forum where it can be discussed properly.

the mod side of this is fairly straightforward

We do not see any benefit to AMKC’s threads which are usually started and abandoned in the same breath.

They also are often just nonsense or asking a rudimentary question one which does not lend itself to discussion.

The threads are scarcely active, indeed even the thread where all OP’s are merged now consist of little more than the threads themselves, comments from mods when we merge them (and reminding AMKC where to direct this sort of nonsense) or one or two posts from the wider AH community.

All in all there’s less than 60 posts spanning a few months at this stage. Point being the threads are not engaging and the OP themselves does not engage much and that was the case before starting the “megathread” so to speak.

Thats the background on why AMKC has no longer been allowed to post random thoughts in After Hours.

Leading us to where we are now I have received no contact from AMKC either to enquire about this decision or indeed to dispute it. They did not respond to being banned for ignoring moderator instructions. They may have engaged with other mods when sanctioned but not myself anyway.

I have also explained to them, again, by PM this morning there’s no “right” to posting threads and I’ve clearly outlined the reasons why we are where we are. They have not contrary to their claim in the OP tried to discuss with me about this.

It’s also not a decision I formed of my own accord. I spoke with the other mods and no one objected to the idea. I had initially in fact just planned to ask them to please refrain from the behaviour but instead we decided to go with the Kneemos solution and create a singular thread whereby they can ponder to their hearts content.

the basic reasoning for this above all else is simply just keeping the forum free from nonsense and not distracting from other threads pointlessly.

AMKC is not being singled out or bullied as she claims. She’s not banned from the forum either directly or indirectly and is the subject of very little mod attention besides this particular case. Big Bag of Chips was able to confirm that above.

So she’s not being targeted by us— we are simply redirecting their threads to one location. If AMKC actually wants to discuss with me or another AH mod they are welcome to do so and I’ve never at any stage indicated I wouldn’t.

I have seen you repeatedly start threads in AH .If you had done it to that extent in CA I would have permanently banned you by now. And it is not the mods you are winding up - it is other posters who become sick and tired of the threads you start

I think the mods have shown remarkable constraint and even allowed you a dedicated thread for your musings. I think you should quit while you are ahead here

We have really never even discussed banning her permanently or indeed at length for doing this. The only other proposition was to just ask her to stop.

We actually felt she’d be happy enough to have her own spot to muse away as you said but evidently not. What’s strange is despite constant defiance and clear frustration they have refused to contact any of us and make her feelings known.

That said if they do keep littering the forum as they have been they probably will end up with a ban. I am sorry they think they’re being bullied somehow but it is certainly not the case.

As Beasty said it’s not to our benefit it is for the AH community as a whole.
