Hi I was thinking of buying a JD sports gift card as a Christmas present for someone but can it only be spent in store? Or would they have the oprion to be able to use it online?

Lives in the west of Ireland.

Don't buy gift cards! They have expiry dates, sometimes have a monthly fee taken out

Gift Cards legally cannot have an expiry date here anymore of less than 5 years. Even if they have one, they still have to honour the card/voucher. I'm fairly sure 5 years is ample time....Also - JD don't take a monthly fee.

Bit of a jump comment there rather than being constructively helpful to the OP!

OP - They can only be used in store.

JD Gift Cards are valid in any JD store within the Republic of Ireland (participating stores only). Gift Cards can also be redeemed in the following JD group stores: Scotts, Blacks, Millets, Tessuti and JD Pro. Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase goods online.

Gift Cards are valid for 5 years from date of purchase.
