Considering getting a thumb turn lock installed on a new front door, as they are aesthetically better looking than leaving the keys in the door, or the alternative of leaving the keys somewhere and unable to find them in an emergency to get out of the house. Considering getting a thumb turn lock installed on a new front door, as they are aesthetically better looking than leaving the keys in the door, or the alternative of leaving the keys somewhere and unable to find them in an emergency to get out of the house.
I see some disadvantages though, where someone can possibly open them via the letterbox, or breaking the glass and reaching that way.
What are the best ways to avoid these disadvantages but still allow the use of a thumb turn lock?
