Gmail indicates a number of emails in the Spam folder but when I click on the folder it is empty. I'm waiting on an email and think it's going to spam but the folder aways shows empty when clicked.

If I type is:spam into the Gmail search field it shows the spam. I can then delete and empty trash. Rigmarole.

have you tried opening gmail in your browser or on a desktop pc - does the same issue happen?
