My most successful strategy was stopping betting altogether. Id say i have far more money in my pocket than when i was betting.

Betting on lower leagues would be a good start - Division 1 and 2 . Specialise in one league .

The premier league and championship has experts and computer programmes that make a normal Joe soap unable to win . I know quite a few people who know their soccer but the odds are against them and they lose money ultimately

You should not bet before the start of the match, even on the absolute favorite,

start betting towards the middle of the game

Why not? Are you saying the odds will be very low & as the game goes on (and presuming still a draw) the odds increase nicely? If the fav scores an early goal obviously it's over.

Some people will bet only on home games.

I often go with X to win & over 1.5 goals to make bad odds better.

Check a team's record after playing in Europe.

There's certain teams keep an eye on- Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Sporting, Benfica etc. Obviously normally low odds as they're the stronger teams in those leagues (Brugge not doing as well as normal this season).

there will be a low odds on the absolute favorite before the start, I don’t think many are willing to bet on very large amounts to earn some money,

It’s another matter in the middle of the game, when anything can happen to the favorite, but you still believe in his victory and manage to catch the hottest odds

Great shout. Teams regularly rest players, someone pulls up in the warm-up. Loads of things can change.

Also, you get to see if one team is just going to sit back for the entire game which might impact on the over/under goal markets.

Never bet on first goal scorer either !!!! The muggest of mug bets.

The market is the market and the price is the price, regardless of whether it's before the game or at any time during the game.

It's up to you to decide if that price offers value or not.

I always taught the draw market was the easiest way to win against the bookies

I think there's little value in soccer betting these days unlike gaa or rugby. But one place I see value is days like today with the FA cup. Smaller teams scalping a win against biggersl side. Usually smaller side puts a full strength team out against a rotated opposition.

Looking at today's fixtures I think Gillingham to beat Sheffield United is good at 4/1. They are home and the blades have been awful in the Premier league. Hoping for a 2nd choice keeper to start and a few peripheral players in front.

One effective strategy is to focus on value betting - maybe it sounds strange, but it is an interesting option. This involves identifying bets where the probability of an outcome is higher than the odds suggest. Conduct thorough research, consider factors like team form, injuries, and playing styles, and look for discrepancies between your own calculated odds and those offered by bookmakers. This approach can help maximize profits in the long run.

It involves assessing probabilities independently of bookmakers' odds, which demands considerable skill and knowledge. However, when successful, value betting can yield higher returns than simply following the crowd. However, you must have considerable expertise and a lot of knowledge. That is why people most often rely on intuition :) which sometimes bears fruit, but everyone knows - that SOMETIMES. But you know, if you are a very risky person, then you better go play chess. Betting is a field only for people with good stamina

Thorough research would take up massive amount of time I think (as you're saying)- home team recent form, away team form, recent opposition form & the teams they were playing, injuries for all, weather, were there any cup games in between etc.

Isn't your intuition the opposite of doing in depth-research?

I find racingpost.com/sport very good (especially at over 2.5 goals and BTTS), often also check sportinglife.com to see if they both give strong tips on same bet.
