Trying to get a straight forward answer for this but struggling so hoping someone here can help and point me to relevant info.

Can a primary school sna take unpaid leave for a family holiday for 5 school days during the school year ? I.e . Not during school holidays but during regular school hours.

If the SNA has a child under 12 they could take parental leave for a week that would be unpaid.

yes. up to 10 days once approved by board, usually need to apply in writing 6 weeks in advance.

    all in circular 32/2010

its supposed to be a very good reason but most boards would allow it if principal knows a sub will be available and you get on well.

could be rejected by board as not want to set precedent, and could suggest using parental leave instead.

It's up to the BOM. They may not approve it for a holiday. They'd want to be a very lenient BOM to say yes to that.
