2010 Renault Megane dci - clutch won't engage

This came on suddenly - clutch is permanently disengaged even before you press pedal and when you do press pedal down it stays down and has to be pulled up by hooking your toe under it! It's like the spring loading that keeps the clutch engaged is broken! Anyone got any idea what might be causing this and how much it might…

Slave/Master cylinder is goosed I'd say.

As above, or could simply be a hydraulic fluid leak.

Surely if hydraulic, it would be permanently engaged as in car would drive regardless of what you did with the pedal as
