Hi just wondering is it OK for an employer to ask you to work other days / nights so you can get your annual leave ?

You’d have to expand on the above for it to make full sense tbh!

With your annual leave you should be getting your minimum 20 days off. If they’re asking you to work extra hours the week after because you took annual leave the week previous, then you’re either doing overtime or accruing more hours leave etc.

A bit of clarification on your working hours would help

There are a couple of other scenarios that may apply, op if you have taken more paid leave than you can accrue between now and year end, your employer might want you to make up for that extra leave by working extra hours. Also, a lot of companies close between Xmas and ny, if you haven’t accrued enough leave to be paid during that period, your employer may ask you to work extra hours to accrue the leave. As long as it doesn’t break the max hours allowed, and you agree to it, it’s ok, if you decline, it may mean you have less annual leave which in turn means you may be unpaid while the company is closed, or you can’t take leave when you want to.
