Sorry to hear of what happened.

You can apply for one parent family.

You should be getting children's allowance for both children provided 17 year old is still in education

Your best thing is to see your local community welfare officer.

Opf can take a few weeks to process. While it's going through, apply for supplementary welfare allowance. Proof of address and 3 months bank statements are needed. The CWO will assist With whatever else you are entitled to claim for

    Hi

you need to apply for carers allowance for yourself in respect of your 17 year old.

you need to complete a disability allowance application form on behalf of your daughter.

you can also apply for disability allowance for yourself.

all the form filling is very stressful. You need to find your local Citizens information centre, ring them and make an appointment to get help to do that.

you need to also contact your local SW office to see the CWO to get an interim payment called SWA to tide you over.

you can’t get one parent family payment unless you have a child under 7.
