Hi all, I'm going to build a 12ft x 10ft shed with 4-inch blocks. I have a foundation already with reinforced steel but it is only about 4 inches thick.

My question is if I place another say 4 inches of reinforced concrete on top of the other 4 inches would this be okay to then lay blocks onto?

Also, would it be okay to put down the DPM before putting on the concrete?

    Any info welcome.

    Thanks

    1.    what height are the walls?

    2.    Have you provided for piers and expansions joints?

    3.    what shape is the roof?

    4.    are the blocks to be on edge or on the flat?

    5.    what depth is the bottom of the existing 4" ie is it below the frost line for your area??

    6.    What width is the existing 4"

    7.    what was the soil condition like when the existing 4" was poured?

    8.    what sort of rebar in the existing 4"

The dpc will stop the two from acting as one
