Hi all.

I inherited my home house 10 years ago. Had it leased and the tenants left in January.

Need to renovate the house but unsure how to go about it regarding grants for renovation.

What organisation looks after these grants and who could I get advise from to put me in the right direction. Someone mentioned that the house has to be empty for 2 years before I qualify for any grants. Is this true.

Sorry if this is off topic, would you know what they mean by rent? Is short term like Airbnb allowed?

Just clarify that the dwelling will qualify for the €50K Jan 25. Worth waiting for. You also have significant SEAI grants for upgrade heating and insulation:

probably onus on you to prove it was vacant, utility bills etc.

From link above;

"You must live in the property as your principal private residence when the work is completed, or make it available for rent. If you are going to rent the property when the work is done, you must register the tenancy with the Residential Tenancies Board."

So not sure Airbnb would qualify.

I would.love to do it now I just can't afford it.

I think that was changed you can rent it out after doesnt have to be PPR
