Gas Stove Heater - remote or smart control

    I have a small cottage that i have on airbnb.

    Heating is by means of a gas stove.

    The problem is I cannot control the heating remotely as i would be if it was electric and most guests leave the stove running 24/7 resulting in huge bills.

    Its an old enough stove but it does have a remote control, but that is just for starting it from the couch and that doesnt always work.


    I'm wondering if there is any way that you can put a timer or remote/smart controls on it?


    There is no chimney in the cottage just a flue that goes out through the front wall.

    If its not possible to control it remotely is it possible to convert it to a different type of heating?
