I am working on a task of replacing a kitchen tap this morning. I never did this job before.

I have the water stopped now.

I unscrewed one bold out from the cold and it came away easily. I will start on the hot side in a moment before unscrewing the base of the tap.

    Here is a picture.

Will this come away when in a while when I pull the tap up from the top? Or do I need to unscrew anything else.

    Looks fairly rigid here.

I have the old tap out.

I have the new one put in now. I remembered the rubber washer for under the tap too. The top of the flexitails had rubber washers.

I am yet to turn the water on and test for leaks but I will do that now.

    How is this?

    Are the tails too kinked?

I do hope to get a plumber at some stage because I would like an isolation valve put in under the sink.

Hopefully this will stop the biggest leak that was happening above the sink.

    Ok,

There is no water leak coming from the top of the tap or sink side.

The hot side has a very slight drip coming from the bolt side pictures above.

I don't like the sound of the tap. Under the sink. It sounds like pressure to me.

The tails might not be tight into the tap from below, everything else looks OK (as you say, adding an isolation valve makes future work easier).

The tails usually seal via a rubber o-ring so don't need to be too tight, but can be difficult to get done from below when it's all connected up.
