If I have a power outage, but use a generator to power by FTTH wall box and my router, would I still be connected? Or would the outage also affect the FTTH cabinets?

    ^^^

You mention FTTH (fibre to the home) but then say cabinets...

If you live in a rural environment with FTTH and a direct connection back to the local exchange then yes. The black boxes on the poles are unpowered. I have done this many times during planned and unplanned power cuts in my area.

If the power outage extends to include your local exchange, it may only work for a few hours before the backup batteries at the exchange are depleted (as I understand it).

Great, thanks. That should have been exchange rather than cabinets. Just wanted confirmation that there is a backup battery that lasts a few hours, thanks.
