Hot supply

    Hi

we are changing system too a pumped combi boiler system with a pumped shower upstairs & a electrical shower down stairs.

my idea is - feed the pump off 1 of 2 tanks (the 1 without the ball valve )and pump directly too the combi boiler from the pump, taking a cold supply from the outlet on the pump too the pumped shower.

electrical shower would be a separate feed from the same tank.

The hot supply would be coming from the combi boiler directly,my question been would the supply from the hot side of the combi boiler be decent since it’s a pumped system ?

The only other hot supply would 2 wash hand basins and a kitchen sink tank supplied from the combi boiler.

    Any thoughts

    thanks

This is best practice. Hot and cold comes from cold water tank and are pumped. This is a far better & more reliable system compared to a mains fed system. I would suggest putting the pump on a timer. This way the pump won't kick in for a 4am toilet flush

How would you take a hot supply from a cold water tank ?

there will be a 1 inch cold feed too the combi boiler, and 3/4 hot supply out of the combi boiler supplying the shower and basins.

You already have the hot feed for your cylinder coming from the cold water tank. This pipe will go through the pump & feed the combi boiler. The cold feed also comes from the attic tank. This too goes through the pump & feeds shower, bath basins etc.

If you gas installer tries to talk you into going mains to the boiler you should run a mile from him. Thermostatic mixers showers need equal pressure.

Would the pressure at the hot tap and shower be equal using the pumped system ? As I’m decent pressure ?

Expansion vessel going on the hot side of the system.

Would you take the electric shower supply off the same tank that’s feeding the pump ?

it will be 2 coffin tanks going in
