I like the simple idea of the echo flex

Is there any alternative that is compatible with Google , except for getting a Google mini speaker

What do you want from it? - just a small speaker that plugs into a socket or a device you can connect to an external stereo?

Just to add voice activation to a room , for lights , heating etc

How good the speaker is, is irrelevant

For that it would be hard to beat the Google Nest mini. CeX have second hand ones for €20.

They're not all that big though in fairness there's the plug block as well as the speaker to hide.

What don't you like about the Google speakers themselves?
