Options to insulate a suspended timber floor.

    I'm looking to replace or insulate a suspended timber floor. Floor is suspended about 200mm above concrete floor which seems to have dpc underneath. Cold coming through floor boards from ventilation. As I see it I've three options.

    1) Insulate between joists. Leave ventilated cavity. I've seen some tutorials on this. It looks like it would be stripping floor boards, putting correct membrane under joists, fill between joists with rockwool, add membrane above. Replace floor boards. This looks fairly straightforward but to me seems a little wasteful, I wouldn't get a huge amount of insulation given the depth of my floor and would be left with useless vent area.

    2) Remove existing floor, add pir and screed over. Add floorboards to osa on top of screed. Downside cost and effort.

    3) Close vents. Fill void area entirely with pir. Replace joists. Fill between joist with rockwool.

    Option 3 is what I'd like to go for but could I hit problems with mould/damp under pir on existing floor?
