    Hi,

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but hoping someone might be able to give me a steer.

I'm getting the en suite renovated and someone suggested I get the shower tanked with fiberglass. Can't seem to find many people using Google so just wondering if anyone here might have any suggestions on people who might be able to help. Looking for someone in North Kildare/West Dublin region.

    Thanks

Did you get any more advice on this?

Generally the fiberglass is generic description for tanking the shower area. The "fiberglass" is a sheet of fabric that comes in a tanking kit or sometimes can be bought separately.

The tanking part comes ready made in a bucket and is a paste/liquid and you put this on the wall using a paint brush or roller brush and then put the fabric along the joints but with an overlap of about 2 inches either side of the joint if there's plasterboard on the wall.

If no plasterboard or any other type of cement/tile backer board isn't used you coat the whole wall in the paste.

You buy the tanking kit in any handware/builders providers or tile shops. You can do it yourself or the bathroom fitter can easily do it. Btw did any of the bathroom fitter recommend tanking to you or was it someone else?
