    Shoulder numbers are there to publicly identify the identity of a serving Garda.

    It's a fair question, and is supposed to be transparent.

    Shoulder number is the district letter, and their individual unique number.


    Vehicle call signs is an entirely different story though. And is not required to be public knowledge.
