Which brands do direct sales in Ireland?

I know Tesla do direct sales from their website. Do any other manufacturers do this, or do you have to go through a dealer?

And in the dealer scenario, which brands tend to stick closest to the advertised MSRP?

    Polestar.

As regards the MSRP, there's lots of variables, something hard to get delivery stock is always going to go nearest MSRP, then you will have dealers needing to meet a quota who will be trying to offload existing new stock as quick as possible so neatest margin price.

thats a very broad question , big difference between an MG and a top of the range MERC.

As neither MG nor Merc do direct sales you'll be talking to a dealer about the price.

In which case, do 'luxury' brands add more on to the MSRP at dealer level than say MG?

Because I've mostly been looking at Renault / Dacia dealers who add about 2k to the MSRP of their SUV/hatchback prices. I was curious is it the same across the board.

The MSRP is the ex. factory price for a vehicle with no options. There's a delivery charge added, which is (allegedly) the cost of getting the car from the factory to the dealership, pre-delivery inspection and clean. It's kept separate from the retail price so it's not subject to VRT.

if you don't want the car in the one (or sometimes two) no cost colour options, then you have to pay for Metallic/Pearlescent paint on top of the MRSP. Delivery and Metallic would explain the circa. €2,000 price over the advertised MRSP.

Off the top of my head, only Porsche and BYD don't charge an additional delivery charge. The BYD delivery charge is pretty high, but there's no charge for the paint colours so it probably includes that. Not sure why there's no delivery charge on Porsche as there is on all the other VW products.

Some of the delivery charges also include the cost of a service plan rather than that being an optional extra - Mercedes and Toyota are ones that spring to mind. Both delivery charges are around €1,500 but that includes 3 services (I think), so the actual delivery charge isn't too bad in comparison with other manufacturer's.

Even with Tesla you get charged a delivery charge, and for metallic paint if you don't want a no cost colour. I'm not sure if that's shown on the website or not as their website pricing factors grants in and they don't apply to the ones I purchase. Tesla delivery charge is €993.78 on top of the retail price of the vehicle.

Some dealers will include stuff like RTI and Paint Protection in their advertised pricing on new cars. They are not mandatory and can be dropped off the purchase of the car.
