Why oh why couldn't they leave it. Harrison said Lennons song writing wasn't great late 1970s.

He proably put the best on his last album. Double fantasy

    They can't need the money

Think it's average enough myself but there are a huge amount of fans who collect everything so it is a big deal for them .If it had being released before on an album doubt it would get that much attention .

    It's a pretty forgettable song.

A lot of hype about nothing much.

Fabulous song for me, the quality on the taking of the vocal from the original tape and in removing of the piano is exceptional.

Superb ending to a group that shook the world.

    Better Born Lucky Than Rich.

Would rather have it than not have it, but yeah there was a reason George Harrison didn't want to record it back in the 90s and it wasn't the quality of Lennon's recording. Pretty forgettable song, the other two they released in the 90s from Lennon's tapes were actually quite decent I thought.

A very bland song. I'd prefer to remember them for the great songs of the past than this.

Not really keen on this song or how it has come about and all the hype...

Liked more of their up-tempo songs anyway, feel this is more like some of their more obscure songs and just not for me.

Don't worry though "I feel fine" I just won't be listening to this "8 days a week"!!

I've come around to the track, I thought it was ok first time I heard it, but I do like it a lot now. I was familiar with the Lennon demo for a long time so the song itself wasn't a surprise. It's very well made, you have to give it that. The middle break is pretty cool (quite Floyd-y) and it works as a recording.

George didn't dislike the song, otherwise he wouldn't have started work on it. He absolutely did stop working on it due to the quality of the demo, in fact they all did. They realised they wouldn't be able to make it sound better. If you hear the demo, you can hear what they were up against.

The reason this, Free As A Bird, and Real Love didn't appear on Lennon's albums is because he wrote them "for Paul". The cassette they were found on had "for Paul" written on it, meaning that Lennon assumed at some point he and Paul would get together to write again, and these would be the songs they would work on. So in a way they were always destined to be Beatles songs.
