Solareg II Thermal Hot Water Panel Settings

We possibly have an issue with our Thermal hot water solar panels. There seems to be a noise emitting from them even when the system itself is turned off. This seems to be increasingly louder at night, but this could just be because it is quieter elsewhere in the house. I am not an expert by any means but have had a look at the controller to understand if there are issues with the settings and have noticed that the anti-freeze protection is currently set to come on if the temperature drops below 250.00°C when the advised range in the manual is between -20°C – +7°C. Would it be feasible to assume that this could mean the solar circuit pump is activated permanently as the temperature is consistently below 250.00°C and we potentially need to get an engineer out to change the setting ? (There is no option for me to change this myself.) Many thanks in advance.
