Hi, I've had 3 micrdiscectomies on L4/L5 disc and it looks like last operation hasn't really been successful as i still have left Glut pain and down the leg standing and pain in my right hip while seated. The pain isn't severe just uncomfortable at the moment. I'm just wondering if any of you good folks have had a fusion op and has it been successful? I'm in 2 minds about going down that road and would love to hear anything from someone who's actually had the procedure? thanks

I had a fusion on L5 S1 after a failed discectomy about 10 years ago. I was in agony for a long time but now I'm completely pain free. Complete success. I often worry that the pain will come back but I've been blessed so far.

    Best of luck Fingers

Thanks Apache... are you limited physically in any way? I used to do a lot of running and cycling. Just wondering would that be ruled out of i had fusion.

I'm not limited but I'm not very sporty and have not challenged myself.
