Toilet Seat replacement - Back to pan toilet

    Bit of a weird question, but here goes!

    We have back to pan toilets installed in the house. After years of use its time to swap the seats. But can any seat purchased from the like of Homestore or B&Q be used on these toilets? Or are there specific seats for them? Im assuming any seat will work, but I want to make sure.

    These days there would be a wide variety of seats. You'll need to measure the longest part of your existing seat, the widest part, and the distance between the two fixing holes in the pan. Most seats sold off the shelf will have adjustable fixings so you will a few mm to play with. With a back to wall pan, look for a top-fixing seat, otherwise you'll have to remove the pan to fit it.
