An Post Prohibited Items.

Hello. Is it possible to post a smartphone containing an embedded lithium-ion battery from Ireland to another EU country using An Post Express or registered mail?

Items containing batteries are specifically on the prohibited list - they won't accept it at the counter https://www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels/Sending/Sending-Guide/Prohibited-Items

Try DPD or GLS. Both use road/sea for shipping to EU countries, and therefore there are less restrictions than the international air transport listing that An Post have to use

I opted for UPS (Air). No restrictions, collected the package from my home and delivered to Cyprus the next day all for only ten euro more than the cost of posting an item of similar size and weight would have been.

UPS operate their own aircraft, so the passenger flight restrictions that apply to most postal services don't apply.
